About
Zack Price is a sound engineer, bassist, and producer from Sarnia, Ontario, who has recorded and performed a diverse collection of genres throughout his young career.
Engineering and Producing
Zack has spent the last three years in and out of studios, having the opportunity to record a wide range of genres such as folk, rock, R&B, jazz, reggae, and Argentinian music. He worked as a studio assistant and live sound assistant at the Gordon Wragg Studios at Humber College in Toronto, Ontario, being mentored by engineers such as Wayne Cochrane, Andrew Mullin, Justin Gray, Mariana Hutten, and Matthew Mainfould. During this time, he had the privilege of producing the debut record for the contemporary reggae group, The Giant Steppas, whose EP titled The First Step was released on September 19, 2025. Recently, Zack has begun his studies in Montréal, QC, to achieve a master’s degree in sound recording from McGill University.
Recording and Performing
Zack has been a part of several recordings over the past 2 years, contributing his skill on bass to many bands and artists such as Circle The City (Sarnia, ON) and Jessie Gosling (Toronto, ON), as well as working with producers such as Hill Kourkoutis. Zack has also recently recorded and released an album with the group Solara, a group of Humber musicians, brought together through the Intercultural and Creative Music Fellowship at Humber College, creating music utilizing Persian influences. He has also recorded his own record with his own project, titled Funktion, which is set to be released in October 2025.
Stage Management
Zack has been privileged to be a part of the Revelree Music Festival in Sarnia, Ontario, stage managing for the festival since its first year in 2022. Through the festival, Zack has worked with bands from all over Canada, including Arkells, Tom Cochrane, The Glorious Sons, JJ Wilde, A Short Walk To Pluto, Texas King, and many more.
Zack’s main goal in music is to promote music from all over the world. Bringing more attention to the music from other cultures and to inspire others to explore new sounds and become curious about music.
Musical Roots
Growing up, Zack was exposed to a wide variety of music from many different parts of the world—Japan, Korea, Spain, Jamaica, etc. Zack immediately took to rock music and was a student at the School of Rock Rochester in Rochester, Michigan, USA from 2012 to 2021. Learning how to play multiple instruments during his time there, he left to continue his musical journey as a bassist in Toronto, Canada.
When he moved from his hometown, Sarnia, Ontario, to study jazz performance at Humber College in Toronto, Zack was introduced to music from cultures such as India, Syria, Brazil, and Ethiopia through different ensembles and people he engaged with in and out of his program. Shortly after he joined the Intercultural and Creative Music Fellowship, a partnership between Humber College and the Aga Khan Museum, where he and six other musicians were mentored by the Montréal-based setar master, Kiya Tabassian. During this time, Zack immersed himself in music from many different parts of the world and has taken this curiosity with him into his recordings.
